Book Review

In my free time I recently read a book called Confession of a Non Barbie. I really enjoyed this book and feel that every girl should to read it, at any certain point of their life. This book wasn’t in a story format where it had an end, beginning, or middle. It was book which gave advice to girls through rough times. Throughout the whole story there was one conflict, relationships. The book was written by Kinda Wilson a female author who is in her mid-30’s. Kinda wrote this book because she felt as if she had struggled through high school with being single, dating someone, Etc. Therefore; she decided she would write a book that would reach out girls who were in her same situation. So she shares her experiences and gives a daily lesson on how to deal with various types of situations. The book was a nonfiction romantic comedy. I truly enjoyed it and wouldn’t mind turning to it for help.

CANB reminded me very much of one of my favorite middle school books Dork Dairies. Even though Dork Dairies was a fiction book that portrayed the life of typical girl in middle school. That has to deal with crushes and first time relationships and kisses. CANB was the same but the only difference was that the situations were non fictional and happened in high school. Which is much more different than middle school and much easier to relate to. But overall I enjoyed both books and would put them in my list of favorite things category.

The X Factor

Lately I have been hooked on the best talent show of the year, The X Factor (US). I think this show is amazing because it gives undiscovered artists a chance to shine. Giving them and their families a happier and better life no matter how far they make it. One of the other great things about X factor is that it shows real people with different stories that truly touch the viewers hears and make them want to reach out and help in any way possible. Even so, everybody always has their favorites and supports them till the end. This good because it encourages the contestants to push through the show. In my case I fully support Chris Rene! From the very first moment he told his story I felt a strong connection with him that made me fall in love with him. * I love him more than I loved JB!* I would say that Chris is person who has a true life story that makes him grateful for being alive today. Not only do the audience, his fans, and the judges see this but so does his family. Chris has a very peculiar voice which is so addicting and smooth. He not only sings hip hop but also raps which makes me love him even more. His fashion style suits him very well, it is a mix between a break dancer and a rapper. Chris has 7 tattoos; even though I am not a huge fan of most tattoos I like his. Mostly because they are extremely inspiration and remind him far he has come with his life, which means a lot to him. His first two tattoos are on the knuckle of hands. Which spell out Love Life. The third tattoo is on the back of his hand where it is the Ying and Yang , good and evil figure. This tattoo proves that all good can surpass evil, as long as you try. On his arm he has the fourth tattoo that says believe. This tattoo is very important to him just like the fifth one on his stomach which says love life. The last two are a microphones with notes and roses around it, which says how much joy music brings to his life. The final tattoo is on back which is a bible verse, which had to do with his rough teenhood. To see someone change into such a good person truly makes me happy; therefore, I am proud to say Chris Rene is my new favorite signer!!!

Goodbye Bieber Fever!!!

Ok so I know in my first blog I stated that Justin Bieber was my favorite artists, maybe I should have been clearer. JB was my favorite teen artist. He was for an extremely long time but now I feel that I no longer have Bieber fever. Which for many of my friends is a great thing and I could honestly say that it is a good thing for me too. When I first heard JB I wasn’t very fond of him, but I knew that I didn’t hate him like the rest of the world. As time went on a certain obsession manifested in heart, making everything about him perfect!! But now I see that isn’t necessarily true.

Don’t get me wrong I still love him and his music, but I no longer have a mad obsession. Though I will admit that I love the way he dresses and looks! His look is a mix between a skater boy and a rapper. But it mostly a hip hop and rap style, which suits him extraordinary well and makes him look good at all times. Even though many girls would say sagging pants is disgusting and "vulgar". It truly isn’t, unless the guys pants are all the way down to his knees. Though if they are not and are slightly sagged with a belt on, I think it cool. Mostly because it nearly always shows who the guy is, and what type of either music, or style he is into. It is just like the guys who always wear either soccer shoes or basketball shoes. You have a clear idea of what type interests they have. That is why fashion is a great part of today’s world because there are so many different types and each of them help you understand the person for who they are. Because fashion is the one thing which people choose depending on who they really are.
